Fellow Puppet Masters,
I have been following the blog comments with great interest, and you’ve raised many relevant points and pertinent questions.
I’ll begin first by apologizing for what may seem to be a delay in response to your questions on my part, because I was conducting an informal “social experiment”, as it were.
You see, I was waiting to see how long it would be before someone stepped up and responded to someone else’s question, while posing their own.
And yet, no-one ‘dared’ to step out and respond with an opinion.
This left me with 2 conclusions, one each for 2 different groups of people.
A: everyone is new and totally clueless about marketing online, and therefore no-one is in a position to help anyone else at all, OR
B: everyone is doing the regular blog comment thing –with the mindset of either commenting only out of self-interest, or worse, not commenting at all.
If you fall under category A, you are excused. Now, I’m speaking to you whether you fall under category A, OR category B –that mindset is WRONG!
I see many of you are already on Twitter, and most of you are already doing some form of marketing online. Even if your an established marketer, that mindset is STILL wrong.
Yes, I know I’m stepping on some toes here. But when it comes to Twitter and all forms of Social Media, this method of doing things will not bring you the success you deserve.
BUT, don’t feel too bad about it –this is a mistake everyone has made at some point, me included. You see, when you comment on a post related to something you’re interested in, you always want to have something to give, even when you are there to ‘get’ something, too.
You can refer to what someone else has said, quote them, answer their question, build on the question they have, anything, as long as you show some form of interest in the conversation going on. And using the methods that I’m going to teach you down the line, I will teach you how to enter the conversation in your prospect’s mind –controlling it and taking charge, so that their topic on interest is you. You.
YOU… Your services… Your products…
You always need to be on the ball –to be willing to help and to answer questions from your Twitter friends.
Even if it’s not entirely related to your specialty, it is a way of striking up conversation and building connections for future reference, which is especially helpful when you find that you have similar business goals.
You could find yourself becoming the go-to-guy (or girl), just by being the first to lend a willing and helpful hand.
These are the exact dynamics at play on Twitter.
Now, let me give some examples of questions that have been brought up, and by all means, feel free to throw in your 2 cents worth:
~ “I have NO PRODUCT, NO LIST, NO WEBSITE and I think I could have a lot more followers if I did. I don’t even know what to say! I do have SEO and web design skillz, however. …what should I do?”
~ “I have just one question Kenneth. Can people appreciate a others if they have life lessons to give others even if they are a ‘nobody’ on the net?”
~ “How do you become the person “who’s worth responding to” when you don’t know their problems? They don’t normally say “I have so-and-so problem”.”
~ “It’s never been very clear to me how to market your UEP.
Am I right to say that it’s mostly portrayed through your subtitle?
And also your core story am I right?
How else can I as a marketer let my UEP be known?”
Again, I urge you to leave a comment and start responding to other people and helping them out. Remember earlier, the contest that I talked about? We have some new criteria: your helpfulness towards other people.
For people who’ve already commented, don’t worry. We’re evaluating your comments based on the previous criteria. Lucky fishes.
Now, I know Twitter isn’t the most conventional marketing vehicle, so I’m working on a way to answer all your questions in an efficient way, without missing anyone out. I might conduct a quick survey or something like that just to get a feel for your most burning questions –I’m working on it, I promise!
In the meantime, the next post is contains a few powerful lessons that have been shared by the Secret Society of Puppet Masters (as this posse shall now be known, just because it sounds sort of cool and exclusive –because it is

Hey Puppet Master!!!
Ok, so from this blog post, it’s very apparent that I’m the one with the most unanswered questions lol
I would really appreciate it if you could help me out with my first one…
How do you become the person “who’s worth responding to” when you don’t know their problems? They don’t normally say “I have so-and-so problem”
The key phrase here is “when you don’t know their problems”.
I shall do a little monologue here and talk to myself in an attempt to solve my own problem and be helpful to myself (and win your contest!) hehehe
Ok, SaiF, to know their problems… you first need to know who they are.
So, let’s do that.
#1 : Know who “they” are
Some background info : I’m creating a new business revolution called the Entrepreneur Express. To start things off, I have asked a few online marketing experts to do an interview with me.
More notable ones are Kevin Nations – the Mogul Maker. P.S. He had a BIG role in making Mari Smith who she is today.
And oh, puppet master, Vishen has also said yes! I’m really excited about that one!
Which is why I want to know their problems, so that I can ask these big time entrepreneurs questions that really solve their answers!
So back to the question, who are they?
My vision is to transform the Online Marketing mindset to one of the Ontrepreneur (Online Entrepreneur) Mindset – since Marketing is only part of creating a multi-million dollar business.
So, I believe the people I’m targeting are people who “want to make money online” and are not making any or are making very little because they don’t understand the fundamentals like you, the puppet master, know.. product creation and brand creation being the biggest ones, I believe.
So now that I know who they are… the next step is to…
2) Find where they conglomerate at
Just the top off my head :
1) Internet Marketing forums!
2) Online Groups : Facebook etc.
3) Find people who already know their problems
I believe the people who know their problems very well are those who have made the most money out of them (and I don’t mean this in the negative sense)
I believe, all I have to do is look for the top gurus and then dissect their salesletters to see what hot buttons they’re pressing!
CONCLUSION : FIND OUT FROM GROUP DISCUSSIONS AND BESTSELLING PRODUCTS’ SALESLETTERS
BONUS STEP : Talk to one of them… by offering a free one-on-one consultation?
Okay, puppet master, I’m quite impressed with myself right now! lol But I’d love to hear how YOU would go about this!

Great advice. This is what top marketers teach all the time but I think sometimes people let it go in one ear and out the others believing their is more to their success such as an untold secret. “You can have anything you want in life if you will just help enough other people get what they want”. That’s the secret and it has always been the secret.
I never thought about it like that. What a great new perspective to approach my business. Thanks for contributing this.
