hey Kenneth,
Thanks for evrything you have taught me!!!

firstly those peeps that complain have no stinkin idea about marketing and how to market, so just ignore em buddy!!! (you and i know they are the typical whiners of our IM community!)

i have made more money using Twitter than any other
social media marketing channel-

i told ya about the $10,000 (profit) day in ONE day from twitter,

i been too busy, i think you are by far the best twitter marketer, last year alone i have gone thru nearly $1,000 worth of twitter education,

and your stuff has been by far the best.

i have done over $24,000 in sales this year alone thru twitter
and it's only March haha ;)

Cheers Kenneth AND Laura !!

oh and to end the thought...

I assume you are smarter than that and use search features to jump into the conversations that you care about with keywords and #tags. In which case you can do without following anyone via Twitter search.

Kenneth - for #3 I highly doubt you actually sit and watch a live stream of the people you follow as market research. I assume you are smarter than that and use search features to jump into the conversations that you care about with keywords and #tags.

I don't think following large number of people is about market research, I think it's about making the other person feel good and think you care. That's it.

Very refreshing way of 'putting things right' Kenneth.
I agree that most of the free stuff you give are valuable enough.
The real thing is a little pricey though..

@Holly Blackwell - Excellent point, re: <blockquote>Think about the news. The same headlines come on over and over and over again all day long. Why? Because they are not talking to the people who have been listening for the last 4 hours, they are talking to the person who just came on.</blockquote>I couldn't have said it better, if I had tried!

Be Well!

I really appreciate hearing this. It explains a lot. And it makes me look forward to hearing your call tomorrow night.

My husband and I use Twitter for very different things and he is new to it so he keeps asking me why people do certain things. We have had this ongoing conversation about the ways people use Twitter and we just talked about the issue of why someone would tweet the same thing several times.

I keep telling him that everyone on there has a different reason for using it but the bottom line is if you want your message to be heard, you need to put it out there several times.

It might seem spammy to some, but that is just because their thinking cap is not on! Think about the news. The same headlines come on over and over and over again all day long. Why? Because they are not talking to the people who have been listening for the last 4 hours, they are talking to the person who just came on.

If you are on Twitter a lot - you will see the same messages several times. It can get noisy, but that is part of the fun!

Kenneth,

You're bringing some great, hard-won experience and sharing it - that's much appreciated. Clearly you're getting some results as well. Quick thoughts:

I do enjoy seeing your posts get twittered, but do we really need to see the same post tweeted multiple times (often with slightly varied copy)? I can appreciate that you might be concerned that it may be missed, but c'mon: we're following you for a reason, (you're interesting), if it's valuable to us, we'll click. Reposting the same link multiple times just feels spammy and it makes me tempted to unfollow to keep the channel less noisy.

<blockquote>"Why do I incite such animosity?"</blockquote>

While your passion is really coming through (good!), keep it gentlemanly. Passionate disagreements, spoken with respect, will bring respect to you. I suspect that some animosity you might feel is in the way people perceive the attitude, not necessarily your techniques or approach. Just because someone disagrees, doesn't make them a "hater" or anything. And if they come off with attitude, kill 'em with kindness ("heap coals on their heads" for you Bible-readers out there).

Keep it coming, and thanks for sharing.

Kenneth, a very "revealing" post you have here Sir...

It flies (somewhat) in the face of what some "preach" in the way of participating in, and on Twitter.com. What you mention, about "tweeting" a lot, and comparing it to email marketing is almost pure genius, IMHO.

I believe it was @RossGoldberg who, in his "stream" on twitter, that recommended that folks follow you, because you had something valuable to say. I'm happy to say that I agree with him. I actually think that you and Ross are probably more similar in your ideas, than you are different.

I'll suggest that what you're saying could even be compared to "forum" marketing as well... If you don't post OFTEN, your signature file (where the links you want clicked are) doesn't get seen, nor do your links get clicked. Which, in the grand scheme of things, is what you're ultimately after, isn't it?

I, <a href="http://twitter.com/ECS_Dave" title="ECS Dave, Live on Twitter.com" rel="nofollow"><b>@ECS_Dave</b></a>, look forward to your call, and hope to gain much from it.

Puppet Master,
So, if you p-off enough peeps can they get T to knock your puppet ID off that promiscuously posting perch? :-)

And do you care?
Hey, are you under the wing of Jay? (that aptly named e-copywriter to the big eagle gurus haha!)
